Answers to Common Questions About The Island

 

General

QWhat is your weather policy?
AAll outdoor attractions are open weather permitting. Please call to find out if we are open in severe weather cases. If we do close due to weather, we do not offer refunds.

QHow far are you from Las Vegas?
AWild Island is about 8 driving hours away from Vegas.

QWhat highway exit do I take to get to Wild Island?
AWe are located just off of I-80 Exit 20 on Sparks Blvd.

 

Waterpark

QIs outside food or drinks allowed in the waterpark?
ANo outside food is allowed into the waterpark or Coconut Bowl. There are picnic tables outside that may be used.

QDo I have to rent a tube?
AFor slides that need tubes, tubes are provided but must stay with that slide. If you would like a tube for personal use or to use in the wave pool, they are available to rent.

QAre life jackets available?
ALife jackets are free and located all around the park. If bringing in your own life jacket, it must be coast guard approved.

QAre there towels?
ATowels are for sale in the gift shop.

QHow can I reserve a shaded area?
ATo guarantee a shaded area for the day, you may rent one of our private cabanas.

QCan I bring my own furniture/food/baby food/ flotation device?
ANo outside furniture, food or flotation devices are allowed in the park. Baby food is allowed into the park if it is in a plastic container.

QCan you page someone?
AWe will only page for a medical emergency.

QDo I have to buy a ticket if I am unable to use the attractions?
AAnyone going into the park, even those who are pregnant, disabled, or not able to swim, must pay an admission fee. For special circumstances please contact a manager.

 

Miniature Golf

QHow long does it take to play 18 holes?
AThis always depends on the number of people in the group. We generally tell the customers that it takes between 30 and 45 minutes to play 18 holes.

QCan I bring my drinks and food out on the golf course?
AYes, customers may eat and drink on the golf course as long as they dispose of their trash.

QIs there a children’s price or senior discount for golf?
AChildren 3 years of age or younger may golf for free. We currently do not offer a senior golf discount.

 

Go Karts

QHow fast do the Indy cars go?
AAbout 20 miles per hour.

QHow much does an Indy Passenger cost?
AIndy Passengers are free, but they have to be between 30” and 54” tall.

QHow long does the Indy car ride last?
A5 minutes.

QHow long does the Sprint car ride last?
A5 minutes.

QIf I buy my child a Round n’ Round wristband, can I drive the Indy cars and they be a passenger, or do I have to buy a wristband too?
ASince passengers are free, either the passenger or the driver needs a wristband, not both, to ride a double Indy car.

 

Bowling

QDo you have leagues tonight? Do you have open lanes?
AYes, we do have leagues. Even if we have leagues, there is a chance that we will have open lanes. We have eight lanes that are not used for league play. As long and they have not been rented out for a private party, we use them for open bowling during league play. Call to see if any parties have been booked.

QCan I reserve lanes?
AThe only way that we reserve lanes is if you book a birthday party or group of 20 or more people. Otherwise it is just first come first serve.

QCan we bring in outside food or drink?
ASorry, but the Washoe County Health Department recommends that since we serve food, that we don’t allow outside food and drink for safety reasons.

QHow can I get on the waiting list for bowling?
ATo be added the waiting list, you must be present at the Coconut Bowl. We do not add people over the phone to the waiting list.

QIs there a height or age limit for High Ballocity?
ANo, there is not height or age limits for High Ballocity–it is fun for many age groups.

QHow do you get to go in the Wind Machine?
AThe Wind Machine is available only to children who have a birthday party (i.e. pay for one of our party packages).
